notHIDDEN - Week 2

For the second week of the notHIDDEN project, I designed this pair of hoops, inspired by the papaver or corn poppy flower which is very common in the Netherlands.

When I walked towards my dutch lessons I used to pass by a building in construction. Fences, rusted metals, machine noise and people biking fast: a big mess in which some red papavers stood with all its magnificence. Yet nobody seemed to have time to notice them.
Then I found out that they're wild flowers.
Then I found out that they grow when a field is removed.
Then I found out that because of their bright red color they symbolize blood.
Then I found out that they're associated with the fallen soldiers of WWI, because they bloomed in the trenches.

And then I wondered,
How many men couldn't see them blooming in spring?
How many could but didn't care?
Did someone had a last moment of joy watching them?
What would happen if we focused more often in the smallest things?
The important ones.
The free ones, which you can't buy nor sale: wind, sun light, the sea, the river, love, friendship, forgiveness, dreams... and the papavers, that grow wild and beautiful without the need of someone to take care of them, just waiting for someone to stop for a minute to watch and enjoy them. Would you?
Y me pregunté,
